More about the
2008 Performances
You can choose to play with
string ensembles alone (quartets, duos, trios, etc.), or add a rhythm
section to your string group (drums, bass, piano, guitar, etc.), or you
can jump into ready-made bands from Columbus. You can play a few tunes
in a bluegrass group, work with a singer songwriter, and there are many
other possibilities.
We will customize the
curriculum to fit your goals as much as possible, and it's up to you to
let us know what you're interested in, what music you want to play and
learn, who you're most interested in collaborating with, and HOW you
prefer to learn (classroom, by ear, by rote, playing, listening, etc...)
The Workshop will
present you with many choices every day; choices of clinics, ensembles,
repertoire, venues, jams, and musicians to play with. There's always
something to do, but it's up to you to take the initiative to get
involved!
